If you run a dental clinic in China, most of what you read online about dental SEO won’t help you much. Nearly all of it is written with Google in mind, and Google isn’t where your patients are looking. Here, people search on Baidu. They check clinic reviews and prices on Dianping. They read about other people’s veneers and aligner treatments on Xiaohongshu, and they often book through a WeChat mini program without ever visiting a website at all.
That changes almost everything about how search marketing works. Baidu ranks sites differently from Google and tends to favour websites hosted in mainland China with a proper ICP licence, so a clinic site sitting on an overseas server can struggle before any other work even starts. Medical advertising is also tightly controlled, and Baidu has become much stricter with healthcare listings since the problems it ran into with medical ads a few years ago. Clinics that serve expat patients in Shanghai, Beijing or Shenzhen have another layer to think about, since they may need to show up in English searches too.
All of this means the agency you pick matters a lot. You need people who know Baidu well, understand the review and social platforms that Chinese patients trust, and won’t put your clinic at risk with claims the regulators would object to.
We looked at agencies that work with dental and medical clinics in China and picked the ones that stood out. We checked their experience with healthcare clients, which platforms they actually cover, how open they are about costs, and the results their clients have seen. Here’s our list.
Dental SEO Market Statistics: China
- China had 1.125 billion internet users by December 2025, with internet penetration passing 80% of the population (CNNIC, 57th Statistical Report, February 2026).
- Baidu sends 44.62% of search traffic in China, followed by Bing at 22.55% and 360 Search at 18.27%, while Google has just 1.88% (Statcounter, April 2026).
- There are now more than 120,000 private dental clinics operating across China, and they account for 47.2% of dental device spending (Mordor Intelligence, 2026).
- The Chinese dental market was worth US$7.83 billion in 2025 and is forecast to reach US$14.26 billion by 2034 (Renub Research, 2026).
- National bulk buying of dental implants has cut implant prices by an average of 55%, and public hospitals now cap the implant service fee at around ¥4,500 per tooth (BMC Public Health, 2026).
- China has 161 million internet users aged 60 and over, the age group with the highest demand for implants and dentures (CNNIC, June 2025).
- Xiaohongshu (RedNote) has more than 400 million monthly active users, about 70% of them women and roughly 60% living in Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities (Xiaohongshu GROW Conference, April 2026).
- Baidu SEO for small and mid-sized businesses typically costs US$500 to US$1,500 a month, with full-service packages for larger brands running much higher (Clutch, 2026).
- Paid search on Baidu needs at least ¥5,000 a month to test properly, and serious campaigns usually start at ¥20,000 to ¥50,000 a month (Gentlemen Marketing Agency, 2026).
- Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen have the largest concentration of agencies offering Baidu and social SEO for dental clinics (DentalSEOAgencies.com research).

How We Score Each Agency
We checked each one’s dental client work, public reviews, published results and terms before adding it, then read every client testimonial we could find. Only agencies that pass these checks are listed, so every DSA Score starts at 80. The other 20 depend on how many of the 100 points below each agency earns: DSA Score = 80 + points earned ÷ 5.
- Profile (up to 80 points). Five factors scored out of 20 each, then scaled to 80:
- Client reviews: a verified rating on Google, Clutch, G2, UpCity, Trustpilot or a similar platform
- Experience: years in business, a named founder or leader, and a dental or healthcare focus
- Client portfolio: how many dental clients the agency names publicly
- Published results: case studies with real figures, such as traffic, leads or revenue
- Transparency: published prices, clear contract terms, and a confirmed website and location
- Client feedback (up to 20 points). What clients actually say, from the testimonials we read on Google, independent review sites and the agency’s own website:
- Independent reviews (6): how many reviews we found that the agency doesn’t control
- Client satisfaction (8): how consistently clients praise the agency, adjusted so a handful of reviews can’t outscore a long track record
- Independent sources (4): how much of the feedback comes from Google and review sites rather than the agency’s own pages
- Dental clients (2): at least one review from a dental practice
- Verification. Client feedback points are reduced when reviews or agency details can’t be verified.
We summarise each client review in our own words and link to the original, so you can read it in full.
Price ranges are a guide based on published rates and typical fees for agencies of a similar profile. Always ask for a written quote.

Dental SEO in China: Frequently Asked Questions
How much does Baidu SEO cost for a dental clinic?
Baidu SEO for small and mid-sized businesses usually costs around US$500 to US$1,500 a month, with bigger brands paying much more. Many clinics also run Baidu ads, which need at least ¥5,000 a month to test properly. Serious paid campaigns often start at ¥20,000 to ¥50,000 a month.
Do I need a website hosted in mainland China?
If you want to rank on Baidu, it helps a lot. Sites hosted in mainland China with an ICP licence tend to load faster for Chinese users and are generally treated better by Baidu. A site on an overseas server can struggle before any other SEO work starts.
Is Baidu enough, or should I focus on other platforms too?
Baidu is only part of it. Many patients compare clinics on Dianping, read treatment stories on Xiaohongshu, and book through WeChat. A good plan covers the platforms your patients use most, and for many clinics that means spending as much effort on Xiaohongshu and Dianping as on Baidu.
What are the rules on advertising dental treatments in China?
Medical advertising is tightly controlled, and Baidu has been strict with healthcare content since the problems with medical ads several years ago. Claims about results, guarantees and pricing promotions can cause trouble. Your agency should know which content needs approval and what to avoid.
How can clinics in Shanghai or Beijing reach expat patients?
Expats often search in English on Google through a VPN, or on Bing, and ask for recommendations in WeChat groups. An English section of your website, a listing on international clinic directories and English content about insurance and payment can help. Many expats also want to know if staff speak English before they book.
